Award Winners 2022

NATIONAL LEAGUE 2022 SEASON

NL MVP – 2022 – Tyler O’Neill, LOS ANGELES DODGERS

Tyler O’Neill of LA barely missed out on winning the Triple Crown, as he led the NL in HRS with 6, batting average at .351, but fell just 1 RBI short! Ironically, it was his LA teammate Will Myers who won the RBI crown. But those were not the only categories that O’Neill led – he was also #1 in on-base pct at ..456, and runs with 17, while ranking second in walks drawn, and in hits.

NL CY YOUNG – 2022 – German Marquez, CINCINNATI REDS

German Marquez was dominant in the shortened 2022 season, as he gave up just 1 total run in his 3 starts, good for a 2-0 record, with a microscopic 0.47 ERA. His team won all 3 of his starts, going just 5-8 in games started by anyone not names Marquez. He also struck out 19 in his 19 IP, while surrendering just 1 free pass.

NL ROOKIE – 2022 – Emmanuel Clase, PITTSBURGH PIRATES

The rookie closer dominated the usbl in his rookie season, not allowing a run over is 10 IP of work, while converting a perfect 2/2 in save opportunities. He also struck out a batter per inning with 10K’s.

NL MANAGER – 2022 – Menas G, SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS

Menas took a team with some decent starting pitching, a fairly deep pen, but a ton of questions on offense, and turned them into a Division winner. The stats don’t lie – San Fran outscored their opposition by just 6 runs, yet finished with a record of 10-6. Our Analytics dept calculates that the Manager found an extra 2 wins for his team, and that made the difference between finishing 1st, or finishing in 3rd.
